Robbins Pet Care simply provides information to private animal owners, shelters and rescues. We encourage all to seek references when making decisions
regarding pet adoption, pet placement, care and training. Robbins Pet Care cannot guarantee the accuracy of all of the shelter or rescue listings in this site.

Statewide
- Adoptarott - PTo rescue and responsibly rehome rottweilers in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Also to provide support to other rottweiler rescue groups outside of our coverage area and to respond to animal emergencies on the gulf coast.

- Alabama Pet Registry - Pet bulletin board and recovery
services for Alabama residents.

- Alabama Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. - Makes
every attempt to provide for all Pugs referred regardless of age, temperament and/or medical condition. Rescues are placed
in the loving homes of volunteers where they are assessed for personality, and then carefully matched to a home that will
provide only the very best. All Pugs and Pug mixes are spayed or neutered before placement, vaccinations are current and
all known medical conditions are addressed and treated as appropriate. Rescue and placement is not limited to Alabama,
but you must make arrangements to travel to the area in which the Pug is located. ***Please read their insightful article,

- Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama - 12/04 -- in desperate need
of foster homes. A private, non-profit, volunteeer organization in collaboration with nationwide Basset rescue organizations
in the interest of finding the best possible homes for homeless hounds. Their medical intake is based in Birmingham,
however services extend throughout the state and their dogs are fostered all over Alabama in volunteer homes.

- Boykin Spaniel Rescue - Dedicated to re-homing unwanted
or neglected Boykin Spaniels.
Each Boykin placed by BSR receives veterinary care and a temperament evaluation prior to placement in an adoptive home as well
as being spayed or neutered. Based primarily in the southeastern USA, BSR, Inc. is growing into a national network of
volunteers who regularly contact their area shelters and veterinarian offices for Boykins that need help. Operates solely on
volunteer labor and from adoption fees and donations.

- The Emergency Animal and Rescue Service (T.E.A.R.S.)
(central Alabama) - Non-profit Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals dedicated to the rescue of injured animals,
the investigation of cruelty and the prosecution thereof. They are one of the few organizations in Central Alabama operating 24/7.
Extends help to ALL animals, including wildlife, reptiles and livestock -- specializing in horses.

- German Shepherd Rescue of Central Alabama

- Greyhound Friends Of The Gulf Coast

- The Humane Society of West Alabama - Founded in 1971,
is a 501(c)3, no-kill, all-volunteer, nonprofit organization, finding loving adopters for homeless, neglected, and/or abused dogs
and cats.

- Schnauzer Love Rescue Inc - (also FL, GA, TN & MS)

- Southern Shih Tzu and Toy Breed Rescue - Shih Tzu
and Toy Breed rescue serving Alabama. Extra care is given to special needs babies. Please visit this site today.

- Weimaraner Rescue of the Tennessee Valley & the South (AL,
GA, MS, TN, LA) - An all volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to finding loving homes for abandoned and displaced Weimaraners.
Serves Alabama and Mississippi, parts of Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana.

- Yorkie Friends Rescue Corporation Yorkie Friends Rescue believes that all Yorkshire Terriers and Yorkie mixes, like all dogs, deserve loving and caring homes and the medical care necessary to ensure the best possible quality of life, regardless of their age or condition; and the members will rescue Yorkies, Yorkie mixes, and at times, other small dogs in need.

Alexander City
- Lake Martin Humane Society - Non-profit, tax exempt
organization. They receive financial support from the City of Alex City, in exchange for caring for the animals turned in by the
City Animal Control Officer.

Bessemer
- Down South Rescue - We are a very small rescue
(very small) but we want to help as many animals as possible get homes we post other rescues animals to we also have some great
info on bad rescues so come check us out.

Birmingham
- Basset Hound Rescue Of Alabama

- Friends of Cats and Dogs - No kennel - relies on volunteer foster homes.

- Greater Birmingham Humane Society

- Save Our Strays - Cats only. A non-profit, no-kill animal
organization since 1999 (although work began much earlier). Operates on volunteers and personal donations, a part-time SOS thrift
store, yearly silent auctions and seasonal garage sales. Many of the cats are not ferals, but house cats who were abandoned by
their owners or whose owners passed away. Thanks to Save Our Strays, over 850 animals have found either permanent or foster homes;
over 750 animals have received medical attention; and over 350 animals are fed and cared for every day.

Columbiana/Helena
- Alabama Animal Rescue - A not-for-profit organization
supported entirely by private and volunteer effort. Serving the Greater Birmingham area for over 20 years.

- Humane Society of Shelby County - Founded in 1982 and is a
non-profit volunteer organziation. Offers animal rescue, education, spay and neuter programs, cremation services and placement
services.

- Gillim Rescue - We are here to take unwanted reptiles and insure them to a good home but we are also open to help out other animals in need.

Gadsden
- Humane Society of Etowah County - A non-profit, charitable
organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane
education as set forth in the by laws of the Society. The current shelter facility is in the old City of Gadsden dog pound.

- The Ark - A non-profit organization, The ARK was incorporated in 1990
to help rescue unwanted, sick, injured, orphaned, and abandoned animals. Through newsletters to members, pet shows, and many other
special events, The ARK helps promote proper care and humane treatment of animals.

- Mobile SPCA - Founded in 1985, the Mobile SPCA is a non-profit
humane society and is one of the oldest continuously operating charitable organizations in Mobile and the country.

- South Alabama Animal Society - Non-profit organization that was
founded to help neglected, misplaced or abandoned animals in regaining their dignity and finding permanent, loving homes in the
community through association with existing local rescue groups and concerned local citizens.

Montevallo
- Today's Treasures Rescue and Adoption - Not a shelter; handles rescues through a network of
foster families. Visit them at Petco on Highway 280 in Birmingham each Saturday from 12 - 6 pm.

- TEARS - TEARS is a 24-hour a day/7 day a week
organization designed for injury rescue and cruelty investigation. They work closely with law enforcement officials to effectively
prosecute cruelty cases. TEARS also provides emergency injury rescue for animals who have been hit by a car, set on fire, beaten or
perhaps worse. Their services are for all types of animals, including equine and livestock.

Point Clear
- J & L Golden Retriever Rescue - Works
with the Baldwin County Humane Society. They like to do a home visit to see where their rescued dog will be and how the family
interacts with the dog. They also look to your vet for a referral, to aid them in the knowledge that your care for this animal will
continue after placement. Their Goldens will have their shots current, be spayed or neutered, have heartworm treatment if positive
and any other care that is required.

Theodore
- Lost Without You Animal Rescue - We are located in South Mobile County Alabama. We rescue any and all
breeds off of the street and from kill shelters. We have saved hundreds of animals that wouldn't have had a chance otherwise. We are a non-profit organization as of 4/19/07.
We get all of our rescues UTD on the vaccinations, heartworm checked, placed on preventative, spayed and neutered before we adopt them out to the public to approved homes
only. We adopt out to those who have established excellent vet references and secure fenced yards. We do on rare occasions to apartments depending on the location.

- T-Town PAWS - A 501 (c) (3) non-profit
organization and all donations are tax-deductible. P.A.W.S. is dedicated to promoting animal welfare through education and a
neuter/spay assistance program. P.A.W.S. also provides support to other animal welfare agencies and humane societies through
community service .
