  • 3D Rescue - Rescues Great Danes, Doberman Pinschers and Dachshunds. All rescues are vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adotpion. Accepts owner surrenders and also a New Hope Partner with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.

  • Adopt-A-Dane Rescue - Devoted to finding permanent loving homes for Great Danes in need. They accept all Great Dane surrenders at no charge. They vet check, spay/neuter and update shots on all Danes with adoption. They also offer low cost boarding, training and grooming services.

  • Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Arizona - They find loving homes for Alaskan Malamutes who have been abandoned at shelters, picked up wandering the streets or turned in to us by good samaritans. They also work with owners who need help with their own dog, be it training or advice, or assisting them in placing their dog in a new home. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to placement.

  • Arizona Adopt A Greyhound - One of the nation's largest Greyhound Adoption agencies. They place between 400-500 of these gentle creatures into wonderful homes each year. Loads of great information and resources are on this site, as well as entertaining photos of these adorable dogs.

  • Arizona Animal Rescue - A network of experienced rescue people who were previously doing rescue independently and realize the benefits of joiningtogether and combining resources. You will find lots of sweet faces on the homepage waiting for you to take them home. Most dogs spend at least a short time in foster care so they can evaluate their behaviors in a home setting.

  • Arizona Beagle Rescue - Arizona Beagle Rescue (AZBR) is a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless beagles through rescue efforts, adoption and education on the breed.

  • Arizona Border Collie Rescue

  • Arizona Boxer Rescue (aka Boxer Luv Rescue) - Started in 1998 and saved 25 Boxers their first year, in 2004 they found homes for approximately 240 Boxers. Boxer Luv Rescue is a dedicated group of about 20-30 volunteers. On their site you will find wonderful stories about the companions who are waiting for a loving, permanent home.

  • Arizona Golden Retriever Connection - An all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to finding safe, loving and permanent homes for unwanted Golden Retrievers. They are committed to the rescue, foster and placement of any needy Golden Retriever in the Phoenix metro area.

  • Arizona Greyhound Rescue - An all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation committed to the belief that every Greyhound deserves a loving, permanent and responsible home. They offer a 90 minute video, "Life with Greyhounds" that will tell you very nearly everything you want and need to know about living with these amazing dogs.

  • Arizona Pug Adoption and Rescue Network - A 501(c)3 non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing Pugs. In addition to rescue, they strive to educate the public about the Pug breed, including its personality, special needs and care. They rescued 110 Pugs in 2004. Most have been adopted, but there are still Pugs needing homes. No out-of-state adoptions.

  • Arizona Siberian Husky Rescue & Adoption, Inc. - A 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-run organization dedicated to rescuing Siberina Huskies and placing them into qualified homes, as well as educates the public about the breed on the special needs of the Siberian.

  • Arizona's Piggie Poo Rescue, Inc. - Piggie-Poo is an Arizona Non-Profit Corporation consisting of a network of private foster homes throughout the State. We primarily support municipal shelters and private rescue groups at critical capacity.

  • California Chinese Shar-pei Rescue (AZ, CA, OR, WA, NV, HI, CO, NM) - A registered non-profit Chinese Shar-Pei dog and puppy rescue serving the Western U.S., offering Shar-Pei adoption services, Shar-Pei health information and resources, a Shar-Pei Message Board and Discussion Forum and Shar-Pei gift items for sale.

  • Central & Northern Arizona Boxer Rescue

  • Coalition of All Breed Rescue of Arizona (CABRA) - Dedicated to rescuing and finding good homes for purebred dogs.

  • Grand Canyon Basset Assistance League - A group of volunteer dedicated to providing community outreach along with assistance, rescue and placement for Basset Hounds. They strive to help the overflow of homeless hounds find forever homes. Education about Basset ownership and the benefits of spay and neuter programs are integral issues to their group.

  • English Springer Spaniel Rescue America, Inc. - Located in Arizona, ESRA is a nationwide rescue group and a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. They provide foster care and adoption referral services to shelters and animal control facilities with impounded Springers. They also assist owners who are unable to keep their Springers by taking them into their foster care.

  • For the Luv of Dogs - Lots of adorable and adoptable dogs and puppies. They are a non-profit, all-volunteer corporation. They do not have a shelter, only foster homes. They are actively involved in rescuing dogs who are in many sad situations or turned in by their owners and helping unclaimed strays find loving, forever homes. They also rescue dogs that are on the kill list at pounds throughout Arizona.

  • Morning Starr Animal Sanctuary - We are a No-Kill shelter specializing in ferrets and farm animals. This includes horses, goats and rabbits as well as the ferrets. We are a non profit, all volunteer organization.

  • New Hope Cattle Dogs - They believe that there is a special place out there for all unwanted and abandoned Australian Cattle Dogs. All New Hope Cattle Dogs will be spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, health checked, have a fecal exam and are up to date on all vaccinations that are age appropriate. They do an extensive evaluation to try and get the best "fit" between you and your new dog.

  • R.E.S.C.U.E. - RESCUE is the last voice for dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, find themselves awaiting death at the county pounds. Since 1995 they have helped over 8,000 animals.

  • Sahuaro Dachshund Rescue - We rescue purebred and mixed Dachshunds. The rescues are all spayed/neutered, vaccinations updated, micro-chipped, and tested for any parasites then treated if any are present. They are fostered in a home for evaluation. We want to get to know each rescue and place it in the best suited home for it's needs and personality. Our #1 priority is the welfare of dogs. Adoptions in AZ only.

  • Samoyed Club of Central Arizona Rescue (aka AZ Sammy Rescue) - A small group of people dedicated to finding homes for unwanted or homeless Samoyeds in Arizona.

  • Sapphire Cats - A no-kill home for kitties only. Operates out of loving foster homes.

  • Saving Arizona Animals - Resources only - no longer incorporated and no longer accept donations.

  • Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue (SWAT) - (AZ, NM, NV, UT) - The Airedale Rescue volunteers in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah cooperate together to rescue, rehabilitate and place purebred Airedales.

  • Southwest German Shepherd Rescue and White German Shepherd Rescue - Lots of beautiful dogs on their home page. Please take a look.

  • Valley of the Sun Boston Terrier Club Rescue - Since 1975 they have been actively rescuing needy Boston Terriers in Arizona. They strive to rescue every Boston in need, giving each dog any necessary medical attention before placing the dog in a loving home.

  • Apache Junction Animal Control Division

  • AJ's Best Friends and All Breed Cat Rescue - An all-volunteer non-profit companion animal rescue. Each orphaned animal is provided proper veterinary attention, as required, and then is placed into one of their Safe Haven Foster Homes.

  • Oasis de los gatos, Inc. - Feral cat sanctuary. A non-profit organization whose goal is maintaining a sanctuary for feral cats and educating humans about the feral cat. Its taming process includes rehabilitation to put the cat or cats into society for adoption. If a feral can not be tamed to Oasis satisfaction, he/she will remain in the sanctuary. Offers a book, "Taming the Feral Cat" available from their website.

  • Foothills Animal Rescue - A no-kill, non-profit, volunteer organization established in 1995. They provide shelter, care and adoption services for dogs and cats.

  • Chino Valley Canine Club - A non-profit organization with three objectives: to support the Chino Valley Animal Shelter; the educate the community in the care of, responsibility for, and training of their dogs; and to provide fun activities for people and their dogs.

Claypool
  • Gila Humane Society - A 509(a)1 non-profit corporation comprised of a group of non-paid volunteers who give their time, effort and money to promote spay & neuter and responsible pet care and ownership. They rescue some adoptable stray pets from the Gila County Animal Control and from owner surrenders to place in loving homes. All pets are vet checked, spayed or neutered and have current shots.

Cottonwood
  • Verde Valley Humane Society - A non-profit shelter serving the Verde Valley which is made up of Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Campe Verde, Jerome and a part of Yavapai County. They have approximately 3,000 animals a year come to the shelter. Many are returned to their owners, others find new homes, but many are not able to be saved. Please help if you can.

East Valley
  • East Valley Bunny Rescue - A no-kill rabbit (bunny) rescue. We seek life-long homes for abandoned/abused bunnies through adoption while caring for the many yet to find their 'forever home'. Contact for adoption location (as of 2/16/08, only available through PetSmart at ower/Southern).

Flagstaff
  • Coconino Humane Asssociation - A humane and caring shelter that will give aid to unwanted, abandoned and mistreated animals in northern Arizona.

  • Northern Arizona Second Chance Center for Animals - Most of the dogs, cats and small mammals come from euthanasia lists of North Arizona animal shelters. They also accept some animals turned in by their owners. Offers low cost spay/neuter services in their state-of-the-art vet clinic; shelter/adoption program; humane education and workshops for pets and their guardians.

  • Rebecca's Sunnybrook Farm - A wonderful site well worth visiting. Also offers dog walking, doggie day care, dog boarding and pet transportation.

  • Noah's Ark Pet Adoptions - A non-profit, all volunteer group. All animals are fostered in the private homes of volunteers until they are adopted.

Lake Havasu City
  • Western Arizona Humane Society - Since 1978 the Western Arizona Humane S ociety has been dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of unwanted and homeless animals and the elimination of pet overpopulation. They provide: clean and friendly animal shelter and pet adoption program; low cost spay-neuter program; pet first aid classes; rabies clinics; ambulance service; education programs for children & adults; wildlife rehabilitation; nursing home visitation program; more.

  • Arizona Animal Welfare League - Arizona's oldest and largest no-kill shelter.

  • Animals Benefit Club of Arizona - Founded in 1979, Animals Benefit Club is a non-profit 510(c)3 organization and no-kill sanctuary.

  • Arizona Beagle Rescue

  • Arizona Center for Animal Rescue and Education (AZ CARE)

  • Arizona Humane Society - Arizona's largest non-profit animal welfare and protection agency. Annually their "Open Door" shelter takes in 30,000 unwanted, sick, abused and injured animals. Offers pets for adoption, pet behavior information, educationand therapeutic services, animal rescue service, second chance hospital and more.

  • Arizona Jack Russell Rescue, Inc. - They are not a shelter and have no regular business hours. Adoption fees include neutering/spaying, a health exam, all vaccines, heartworm test and a supply of "Heartguard" and a fecal test to ensure no parasite are present and an ID microchip.

  • Arizona SPCA - They offer the programs: pet food delivery for the homebound; companion animal medical aid; foster care and adoption of injured and abused animals.

  • Boxer Rescue Foundation

  • C.H.A.R.M., Inc. - Cat Help and Rescue Movement - Has some adoptable cats, but mostly they operate a "fix and release" program for Maricopa County. They monitor over 100 feeding stations. They also recatch injured or ill animals.

  • Citizens for North Phoenix Strays - A network of people foster caring for pets in need of new homes.

  • Curiel Animal Rescue of Guadalajara - All pets are fostered and cared by Curiel Rescue, so they can be matched to the best adopter; most are leash trained; many are already hosue broken and kennel trained; adults are spayed/neutered; all have their shots. They offer a guarantee for their health (aka financial aid). They also offer a free first exam with a participating veterinarian.

  • Dalmatian Rescue of Arizona - A small group of rescuers and the oldest Dal rescue group in the Valley. They provide stray/shelter dogs with foster homes, medical care, food/water, exercise and socialization. Purebred Dals only. In need of foster homes. No out-of-state adoptions.

  • Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue - All volunteer, 501(c) 3 non-profit organization for Labrador Retrievers in Phoenix and most areas of Arizona. They also provide medical care and/or rehabilitation for these dogs.

  • Dial A Pet - One of Arizona's premier placement agencies for dogs and cats needing new homes, due to no fault of their own.

  • Fastdogs-Fastfriends Greyhound Rescue and Adoption - Lots of beautiful Greyhounds featured on their site.

  • Four Paws Rescue - Takes dogs from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to save them from euthanasia. They do take some owner surrenders depending on space availability.

  • Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary - A registered non-profit Arizona corporation with 501(c)3 status.

  • H.A.L.O. - Helping Animals Live On - A no-kill, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending pet overpopulation. HALO was founded in 1994 by two women, Michel and Heather, out of their home in Phoenix, AZ. They provide temporary shelter to abandoned cats and dogs until a permanent home can be found and by providing low-cost spay/neuter programs to the public.

  • Ironwood Pig Sanctuary - We are a pot bellied pig rescue and sanctuary and are dedicated to eliminating the suffering of pot bellied pigs by promoting spaying and neutering, assisting owners and other sanctuaries, and providing a permanent home in a safe nurturing environment for those that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or unwanted. Our sanctuary consists of 80 acres with 15 being developed exclusively for pot bellied pigs and the remaining 65 serving as a buffer or for future growth.

  • MASH (MCSO Animal Safe Hospice) - Sheriff Joe Arpaio's no-kill shelter, MASH, was created to house and care for animals that have been abused or neglected by their caretakers, and that have been rescued by the Animal Cruelty Investigative Unit. The purpose of the shelter is to provide for these tragic animals, who must necessarily await the outcome of their owners' cruelty cases in court.

  • Maricopa County Animal Care and Control - AC&C is a full service animal organization that offers the community many valuable programs and services such as: Shelter for lost and stray animals; Field services throughout the Valley; Adoption programs to place dogs and cats in loving homes; Education programs; Human-animal bond programs; Low-cost vaccinations for dogs and cats; Help for families who are having trouble caring for their pet.

  • National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network - A non-profit, nationwide organization dedicated to placing any and all Anatolian Shepherd Dogs and their mixes that are deemed "adoptable."

  • Pause 4 Paws Society - A 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization.

  • Paw Placement - A 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill organization. Actively supports Maricopa County Animal Care and Control facilities and are proud to be New Hope partners with an organization completely dedicated to eradicating euthanasia in Arizona.

  • Phoenix Area Rottweiler Rescue - Rottweiler rescue. Also offers training classes using positive reinforcement methods only.

  • preciouspomsnpersians - We are a pomeranians and persian rescue, but do take in other small dog breeds as well. We work closely with our veterinarian to help these less fortunate pets and make sure they are healthy, by providing routine care, vaccines, dewormers, medications and even surgery. Once the pet is cleared and healthy, we access them to see what their personality is like and what kind of a home they need.

  • Racing Home Greyhound Adoption

  • Red Mountain Senior Dog Rescue - RMSDR was created to help many of the senior dogs that end up at the Maricopa Animal Care and Control Shelters.RMSDR is a New Hope partner with Maricopa County. Senior dogs make incredible companions. They are usually housetrained, they are more low key and won't keep you up all night and they like to be with their people.

  • Rescue A Golden of Arizona - Since 1998 (through 2004), 1,307 Golden Retreivers rescued, 1,246 Golden Retrievers adopted.

  • S.A.F.E Save Animals From Euthanasia - The shelter is no longer open, but the dogs and cats are now in foster care -- and still available for adoption. S.A.F.E. is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization which rescues dogs and cats scheduled for euthanasia at Maricopa County pounds. This county, which includes the metropolitan Phoenix area, has one of the highest dog and cat euthanasia rates in the United States. Since June 1999, S.A.F.E. has found homes for more than 350 dogs and cats.

  • Small Paws of Arizona - A small group of people trying to save just a few of the many puppies and small dogs that are euthanized each year in Maricopa and Pinal Counties.

  • Southwest German Shepherd Rescue

  • Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue - We are a 501(c)3, nonprofit, organization based in Phx, AZ. All dogs are spayed/neutered, receive a full health & temperament evaluation. The adoption process includes completion of an adoption application and a home visit. Giants are extremely intelligent and have a working attitude. They thrive on having a "job" to occupy their time and provide an outlet for their energy.

  • White German Shepherd Rescue - We are a small rescue dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming white German Shepherd Dogs into their forever homes.
