herding group that have been discarded, neglected, abandoned or stray. Many of these dogs are turned into animal shelters because their previous owners discovered
they were not border collie material or because changes in their lives left them unable to care properly for their dogs.

The United Maltese Rescue exists to place stray, abandoned and/or unwanted Maltese in homes which will provide a
high level of care and where the spirit of the UMR Code of Ethics is observed. The rescue will assist Maltese
owners, who, for any reason, can no longer provide a home for their dog.
