Wysong Mother's Milk is designed to provide optimal nutrition for kittens and puppies whose mother's milk may be unsatisfactory or unavailable. Mother's Milk may also be sprinkled dry onto the food of older or show cats and dogs for extra nutrition.

Breast Milk is nature's perfect food. Milk is one of the few elements in nature with the sole function being food. Milk is extremely complex containing over 100,000 different molecular components. The delicate balance of proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, antibodies and other micronutrients is difficult, if not impossible, to duplicate using fractionated ingredients. Wysong Mother's Milk is specifically formulated using whole, natural ingredients to mimic breast milk for kittens and puppies whose mother's milk may be unavailable or unsatisfactory. Mother's Milk can also be sprinkled dry onto the food of older or show cats and dogs for extra nutrition.

Directions
For kittens and puppies: Mix one part Mother's Milk with two parts warm water. Use pure water only. Shake or stir thoroughly.
For kittens: Feed at a daily rate of one tablespoon (1/2 fl oz) of formula per 2 oz (1/8 lb) of body weight.
For puppies: Feed at a daily rate of six tablespoons (3 fl oz) per pound of body weight. The daily feeding rate should be divided into equal portions and feedings should be every 3-6 hours.
The needs of individual kittens and puppies will vary and the amount fed may need to be increased or decreased. Keep unused formula refrigerated in a tightly closed container. Use mixed formula within 24 hours. Formula may be gently reheated before feeding.

Protein is the nutrient of primary concern when choosing a milk replacer. Whole milk and its components are the most beneficial sources of protein. This is because the majority of milk proteins remain unique to milk. These proteins have the appropriate amino acid composition needed for growth and maturation.

Wysong Mother's Milk includes six protein sources for balanced nutrition, including whole milk, whole egg, whey, and colostrum. Colostrum additionally provides immunoglobulins, which serve as antibodies protecting the newborn from disease until its own immune system has developed. Mother's Milk  protein sources also supply enzymes, nucleotides, vitamins, minerals, hormones, prostaglandins, complex sugars and growth factors that promote development and/or healing.

Fat - more than 50% of the calories in breast milk are from fat. In addition to providing fuel for growth, Mother's Milk fats increase resident time in the stomach, thus increasing digestion of proteins and other nutrients. Healthy fats also make kittens and puppies less likely to develop allergies. In addition to the fats within colostrum, whole milk and whole egg, Mother's Milk also includes the following beneficial fats:

Medium Chain Triglycerides - Because bile and enzyme secretions from the liver and pancreas are not fully functional during the first few weeks of life, it is important that fats are easily digestible for the kitten or puppy. Medium chain triglycerides (MCT's) in Mother's Milk require less bile and enzymes for digestion, and are transported directly from the stomach and small intestine to the liver to be utilized for energy more rapidly than other fats, which must pass through the lymphatic system. MCT's also increase the absorption of amino acids, fat-soluble vitamins and some electrolytes.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids - Wysong Mother's Milk contains high levels of fish oil-derived omega-3 essential fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). These fatty acids are absolutely necessary in the diet of newborns. They are needed for the formation of the cell membranes of all cells, proper enzyme function, the development of the brain, eye and nerve cells, healthy liver function, and energy and protein production. Puppies and kittens can readily absorb up to 98% of the essential fatty acids in Mother's Milk.

Lecithin - Lecithin, as found in Mother's Milk, is necessary for the formation and maintenance of cell membranes, nerve transmission, and normal brain and liver function. Lecithin also increases resistance to disease and is a natural antioxidant. In addition, lecithin is a source of choline, a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Probiotics and Prebiotics
Wysong Mother's Milk provides natural food source probiotic (intestinal microorganisms) cultures. Probiotics play a vital and beneficial role in health. Intestinal probiotics help digestion and augment the overall health of puppies and kittens by improving nutrient availability, synthesizing enzymes and vitamins, promoting anticarcinogenic activity, enhancing the immune system, and regulating bowel function. Further, one of the best mechanisms for protecting against digestive tract infections is the competitive exclusion of pathogens via establishment of proper intestinal flora. If the digestive tract is populated with sufficient numbers of "friendly" microorganisms, pathogens cannot as easily take root. Although the exact mechanism of action is not known, it is believed that probiotic organisms act through nutrient exclusion, competition for attachment sites, production of volatile fatty acids and fermentative gases that inhibit pathogens, and by decreasing the oxidation-reduction potential. Mother's Milk  not only provides probiotic organisms, but also prebiotic oligosaccharides known to promote establishment and growth of probiotics.

Enzymes
Enzymes are delicate compounds responsible for nearly every chemical reaction that occurs in the body. It is little wonder they are bountiful in breast milk. This is because newborns have immature digestive capabilities, specifically with regard to inherent pancreatic, stomach and intestinal enzymes.
